Photographer. Writer. Brand Strategist.
I’m Meg Furey — a photographer, copywriter, and brand strategist based in Austin, Texas. I create cinematic, editorial-style family travel storytelling for boutique hotels, destinations, and lifestyle brands.
I photograph places the way they feel, not just the way they look. I’m as drawn to nostalgic roadside towns and sun-bleached highways as I am to design-forward boutique hotels and museums with impeccable collections. I’m interested in the magic of family travel — mornings as the beginning of another great adventure, shared milkshakes over lunch, open roads in the golden light of an afternoon, late lights spent stargazing or firework watching and all the small moments that somehow become the ones you remember forever.
I have spent 15 years as a copywriter and brand strategist working with brands across hospitality, lifestyle, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. That background shapes everything I create today. I don’t just make pretty pictures — I create visual and written stories with a marketing-first lens, designed for real brand use across websites, Instagram, blogs, and email campaigns.
At the center of my work is family travel — not the overly curated version of it, but the emotional, cinematic, memory-making version.
My photography has been exhibited at the Houston Center for Photography as part of their 2020 Togethering exhibition, as well as the Austin Studio Tour.
I travel with my two children, who are my muses and my co-conspirators in this work. They bring honesty, whimsy, and motion into every frame — and they keep my storytelling grounded in what family travel actually looks and feels like.
If you’re a hotel, destination, or brand looking to tell richer, more emotional stories about your experience, I’d love to collaborate.
