Pandemic

During the pandemic, I was most interested in the ideas of nostalgia and grief, specifically the space in between those two ideas where things, people, or places are actively changing or disappearing. Places where it feels like someone has just been, but might’ve suddenly disappeared.

During the pandemic, places that were once bursting with life -- neighborhoods, bars, restaurants, and storefronts -- were empty. On the surface, there is something comforting about the emptiness knowing that so many are doing their part to keep each other safe during the pandemic. However, this feeling is accompanied by something more troubling: the feeling that things, people, and places are slipping away -- disappearing -- into an uncertain future. This work documents the inherent anxiety of that time.
