Liquid Days

Liquid Days is an ongoing photographic study of my children, created largely in the long, unruly light of Texas summers. I began making these images during a season of profound change in our family—as a creative practice, but also as a way to remain present with my children while we found our footing together.

The photographs hold the fleeting texture of childhood: sun-warmed skin, tangled hair, boredom, wildness, tenderness and days that seem endless until, suddenly, they’re gone. At its heart, Liquid Days is an attempt to preserve what cannot be kept—and to leave my children a record of how closely they were seen and how deeply they were loved.
